The Wild & Scenic Film Festival returns to Santa Fe!
SANTA FE, N.M.— Join the New Mexico Environmental Law Center (NMELC) when it hosts the Wild & Scenic Film Festival Tour in its 2nd Annual showing at the Santa Fe Farmer’s Market Pavilion on the evening of Saturday, September 12, 2015.
One of the nation’s premiere environmental and adventure film festivals, Wild & Scenic films combine stellar film making, beautiful cinematography and first-rate storytelling to inform, inspire and ignite. Explore solutions and possibilities to restore the earth and human communities while creating a positive future for the next generation.
This year our Special Guest is author, Craig Childs, who will give a presentation to NMELC members prior to the films.
The films encapsulate and illustrate the spirit of the New Mexico Environmental Law Center’s work: to stand up for individuals and communities whose well being is threatened by environmental degradation. The Law Center has helped open the doors of the legal process to communities across New Mexico for 28 years and continues to work to protect their water, land, air and cultural landscape by providing legal representation at little to no cost.
Proceeds support the New Mexico Environmental Law Center’s work with communities to protect their resources and their health.

About the Wild & Scenic Film Festival
The Wild & Scenic Film Festival was started by the watershed advocacy group, the South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL, pronounced “circle”) in 2003. The festival’s namesake is in celebration of SYRCL’s landmark victory to receive “Wild & Scenic” status for 39 miles of the South Yuba River in 1999. The 4-day event features more than 100 award-winning films and welcomes over 100 guest speakers, celebrities, and activists who bring a human face to the environmental movement. The home festival kicks-off the national tour to over 100 communities nationwide allowing SYRCL to share their success as an environmental group with others organizations. It is building a network of grassroots organizations connected by a common goal of using film to inspire activism. With the support of their National Partners the festival can reach an even larger audience in tour venues coast to coast.
